SWORDS FOR SALE

1912 Pattern Cavalry Officer's Sword - 4th Queens Hussars MC

Description: A super example of the current pattern of cavalry officer’s sword. The hilt and guard have been expertly restored to their original condition. The blade carries the royal cipher for George V to one side with the regimental badge and motto for the IV Hussars The Queen’s Own to the other. The blade is lightly tarnished overall. The scabbard retains all of its original plating and has just one small area of corrosion close to one of the scabbard mounts (photo). With a little attention this sword could be returned to ‘parade’ condition. Named sword bag also present.

Provenance: Formerly the property of Major John de Moraville MC. Maj de Moraville won the Military Cross while serving with the 4th Hussars in Northern Greece during the early part of WWII. Further information supplied on purchase.

Price: Final sale price witheld.
