SWORDS FOR SALE

Highland Light Infantry Officer's Cross-Hilted Broadsword GRV

Description A tidy example of a WWI era cross-hilted broadsword for the HLI. The hilt and pommel have lost much of their original plating, though the shagreen on the grip is in good order and the wiring is present and undamaged. The blade is in exceptional condition and carries the cipher of King George V to both sides as well as the royal arms. The scabbard has taken a beating at some time, though it is complete.

No makers name is present on any part of this sword, with just the the number 35 present on the cross-guard and tang to show that the two belong together.

Provenance: None known, though this sword probable dates from just prior to, or during, the Great War

Price: Final sale price withheld.
