SWORDS FOR SALE

German Cavalry Levee Sword dated 1909 with Presentation Inscription

Description: A very pretty lightweight version of the Prussian Imperial cavalry sword. Both hilt and blade are in superb order with no damage to losses to either area. The blade measures 29 inches and the sword overall is 3 inches. The lions head pommel has the jeweled eyes that are characteristic of swords from this period. The cross guard is marked GESHUTZT MUSTER, indicating that the design was copyrighted, and the makers mark of the letter Z within a shield (I have so far been unable to identify the maker).

Provenance: The inner part of the guard is engraved with ‘S/L FREUSBERG FUR FIDL ERIG SOMMER ’09 HOPMANN’.

Price: Final sale price withheld
