SWORDS FOR SALE

1845 Pattern Infantry Officer's Levee Sword by Mole

Description: The hilt and grip are in good order and the original leather ‘inner guard’ is still present, though a piece has broken off opposite the flexible portion of the guard. The blade is lightly tarnished all over, but the etching to the blade is still visible, though a little faint. The middle scabbard mount is loose, though this should be easy to remedy, and the chape is also slightly loose. There is a ‘fold’ in the leather scabbard, but the scabbard is still in one piece. There are no makers or retailers names present, but the emblem on the brass proved slug would indicate that this sword was made my the firm of Robert Mole.

Provenance: None known.
