SWORDS FOR SALE

1912P Cavalry Officers Sword for the 14th Hussars by Wilkinson dated 1912

Description: A good early example of the 1912 pattern with a good WWI provenance.

The guard and grip are in good order, with the wiring to the grip intact and no damage to the shagreen.

The plating to the blade is a little worn towards the bottom of the blade, but it is clearly and beautifully etched with the Royal Arms, the owners initials and the badge of the 14th Hussars.

The leather service scabbard is complete and in good condition.

Provenance: Formerly the property of Charles Stanley Lucas-Whidbourne. Charles served throughout the Great War, and spent some time in the Royal Flying Corps. He was wounded while serving with the RFC and subsequently returned to the 14th Hussars. He spent the remainder of the war in Palestine and Iraq and was the diarist for the 14th during this period.

Price: Final sale price witheld
