1889 Pattern Chinese Cavalry Trooper's Sword by Horster of Solingen

Description: A rare 1889 Pattern cavalry trooper’s sword with scabbard. Some minor surface corrosion to the hilt and the scabbard, but the celluloid grip is not cracked or chipped and the blade is in A1 condition. Maker’s mark name to the ricasso.

Provenance: None known. These swords were either made for the Chinesen Kompanie, a unit under German control at the time of the boxer rebellion OR they were supplied under contract to the Imperial Chinese Government with 850 being produced in total.
