SWORDS FOR SALE

1885 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword

Description: Hard to find an example of this pattern of sword in such good condition.

Extremely light corrosion to the hilt overall, which would respond well to a little cleaning, but with no actual pitting of the metal. Slight staining to the blade overall.

The blade is stamped with M at the ricasso for the maker Mole, and the blade also carries a nice etched panel bearing the makers name. Acceptance stamp for April 89, so this sword may not have been issued as this pattern was soon to be superseded by the 1890 Pattern. Unusually the wooden scabbard liner is intact and, barring a small patch of corrosion on the chape, the exterior is in fine condition.

Supplied with a piece of buff leather so that a new buff piece can be fashioned for the hilt.

Price: £495
