SWORDS FOR SALE

1854 Pattern Infantry Officer's Sword by Wilkinson Named Blade

Description: Another tidy example for the collector. This sword is in fine order overall with no damage to the grip or the guard. The un-plated blade is finely etched with the VR cypher to both sides plus the owners initials and coat of arms to one side. The blade number 14515 dates the sword to 1866.

The scabbard is complete and is without any knocks or dings. It has a pleasing aged patina overall, though it could be polished back to its original bright finish if required.

Provenance: Formerly the property of Captain Nathaniel Henry Hodgson. He served with the 85th Rifles and the 2nd West Yorkshire (Light Infantry) militia. Full provenance available on request.

Price: Final sale price withheld.
