SWORDS FOR SALE

1853 Pattern Cavalry Troopers Sword

Description: A relatively rare sword these days, and hard to find in this condition.

Just some minor distortion to the three bar guard, which should be fairly easy to remedy, and a little light staining to the blade overall detracts from its otherwise excellent condition.

The leather grips are in good order, the iron parts of the guard and hilt have a nice aged patina overall, and the scabbard retains its original wooden liner. The sword draws well and is a great fir to the scabbard. Both hilt and scabbard bear the same unit and rack numbers i.e. FF and 73 for, I think, the Forfarshire Yeomanry Cavalry, and the ricasso is nicely mark with acceptance stamps etc.

Every collection should have one of these and this one is, probably, the best you will find around.

Supplied with buff leather so that a new buff piece can be fashioned for the hilt.

Price: Final sale price withheld.
