SWORDS FOR SALE

1827 Pattern Royal Navy Officer's Sword by Wilkinson ERII

Description: A high quality sword from the renowned firm of Wilkinson that is in near ‘parade’ condition. The wiring and ray skin grip are in good order, the blade is firm in the hilt and there is no damage to the guard and it retains nearly all of its original gilding. The etching to the blade is clear and there are just one or two areas of very slight staining to the blade that require a little attention to bring the blade back to perfect condition. The blade carries the royal ERII cypher to one side with the RN fouled anchor to the other.

The scabbard is also in fine condition with no bends to the leather or damage to the mounts. There is some minor staining to the chape and some very slight rubbing to the centre mounts; both these defects can be easily remedied

To purchase a new sword of this pattern would cost well in excess of £1100. This sword represents a great opportunity to purchase a high quality item at a very reasonable price.

Provenance: Blade No 86115; made in 1963. Research pending.

Price: Final sale price withheld.
